MEMBER & GUEST VALENTINE TOURNAMENT
Greetings from The Links Challenge
Hi to all! Firstly allow me to introduce myself, the General Manager of New Kuta
Golf & Ocean View. My name is Rajakulasingham, known to most as Raja.
For those who wish to know, here is a little about myself. I am Malaysian. I graduated in Perth, Australia, and my long career in golf started in Saujana Golf & Country Club, the first private golf resort in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, early 80’s. Then I moved across the Causeway to Singapore’s most prestigious Tanah Merah Country Club, which set me up for better things to come. From there I was appointed to the highly rated Tanjung Putri Golf and Country Club, a 54 hole golf resort, as its General Manager. My last job was at Bukit Darmo Golf, a Jack Nicklaus golf course in Surabaya, Indonesia, before taking up the job at New Kuta Golf, Pecatu Bali in January 2010.
What we set out to do, early last year, has had a great impact on the progress and reputation of New Kuta Golf, that today we have one of the most well maintained golf courses in this region, good friendly service and a fleet of well trained female caddies who will ensure that you have a hassle free experience each time you play here.
All this reached a high point in October last year 2010 when we were voted as The Leading Golf Resort in Indonesia 2010/2011.
Just a few lines on the golf course:
The front nine runs inland, away from the ocean, through a beautiful hilly, undulating terrain presenting the golfers a completely different experience from the back nine which brings into play memorable ocean holes and the wind playing a distinctive role.
The golf course plays different day to day. The windy conditions are typical of a links style course. What is disconcerting is the constantly changing wind direction that introduces subtle variations to shot making. There are many challenging golf holes and as such it is hard to pick a signature hole. The whole course is a signature course. Yes, one might say Hole 15 Par 3 set on top of brilliant white limestone cliffs, over looking the endless blue horizon of the Indian Ocean, can play anything from an 8 iron to a wood with the howling wind coming at you-contender for signature hole.
If you have a good round going, be weary of the home stretch, Holes 16, 17, 18 which will provide the ultimate test of your golfing skills. And when it’s all over, you will be able to reflect on memories of a great course at the Clubhouse, where you will enjoy a wide variety of delicious local and western cuisines and quench your thirst with a cold beer or some locally brewed juices for those health conscious.
This unforgettable experience is excellent value for money!
Regards
Raja
